Day One

Pastor Jane Evans   -

Faith is the currency of heaven

Robert Kyosaki wrote one of the best sellers of all time, a timeless classic called, Rich dad, Poor Dad.  It’s a story about his dad (poor dad) and his best friend’s dad (rich dad) and the differences in attitudes he saw between the two.

In his book he explores the differences he observed, between the two dads beyond the obvious difference of money, and came to the conclusion that the real difference was ‘options’. Being poor gives you less options, being rich gives you access to a lot more options. Every kingdom, country has a currency.  The more of that currency you have access to, the more options you have.

Faith is God’s currency.

I want us to read a verse that most people don’t really understand:

James 2:5

Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom He promised those who love Him?

I absolutely LOVE this verse because Jesus, as always, turns the worlds thinking on its head and changes up the odds for those who see themselves without options! The word used for poor is ‘to cower and bend over in a beggarly pose.’ God’s word declares that not only can those who feel limited by options in life, become RICH in FAITH, but, He has CHOSEN them to become RICH in FAITH!

The word ‘rich’ here is from the root word which means ‘to sail’ It literally means that those who see themselves with reduced or restricted options in this world, those who feel bowed down and bent over under a weight, those that feel ‘stuck,’ have been CHOSEN by God to be able to access an unlimited, unrestricted supply of the currency of God’s Kingdom. That currency is faith, and as they use it, they are able to ‘sail’ past obstacles, by accessing the inheritance promised to them as a citizen of His kingdom.

Today I want you to understand that regardless of your current circumstances in this world, you are chosen by God to be RICH in faith! That faith is a currency accessible to ALL that belong to God’s Kingdom, and through that FAITH, God’s desire is that you change your posture from bent over, and weighed down, to standing tall as a person of FAITH and Kingdom Influence.
