Day Ten
DAY TEN
In genesis 15 in the great covenant that God made with Abraham, he said….
Gen 15:2.
“Do not be afraid, Abram, I am your shield, and
your very great reward.”
God is telling Abraham here to not fear because He will defend and protect him, and He will be his reward. Notice God doesn’t say I will reward you, God says I am your reward!
The word reward is śə·ḵā·rə·ḵā in Hebrew, which means wages or paymaster. God is not saying that he will make sure that Abraham gets a reward, but that He is personally his reward or paymaster. This means that the reward is ongoing, its part of a relationship, not a once off event!
The reward we get for believing the impossible for our future, for fighting off the birds of the air, the lies of the enemy, doubt, fear, negativity is that God promises to be the one who enters into a partnership with us, a covenant to increase our faith, he takes personal responsibility for it.
I sense today that God wants us to renew our covenant with him regarding the promises of our future. Lets use the rest of this year to grow stronger in our faith, and finish strong!
