Day Twenty-One

DAY TWENTY-ONE

We are continuing today to talk about God’s Word as a faith healer, a creative force that when is sown into open hearts can’t help but take root, begin to multiply and create ‘something’ out of the barrenness that was ‘nothing’

God’s Word did this at creation

Hebrews 11:3

By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.

John 1:1-4

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

In light of these verses, we can see that even if we have no faith, if we feel like an area of our faith life is bankrupt, barren, God can give us faith and create something out of nothing if we will invite Him into that area!

What I love about this is the fact that we don’t have to ‘work up our faith, it is a gift from God, all we need to do is have a heart that is willing and ready to receive His Word and allow its life creating power to go to work within us.

I cannot stress enough the importance of reading and absorbing God’s Word daily! It isn’t a duty or obligation; it is a matter of the survival of our faith!

Jesus speaking to the devil who is the mastermind of faith stealing, when he was being tempted by him in the wilderness, said this:, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’” (Luke chapter 4 verse 4)

This conversation took place during the temptation of Jesus by the devil in the wilderness. He hadn’t fed his physical body for 40 days and it was at the point of complete depletion. The enemy thought that he could get him while he was weak, but Jesus states that life does not only come from physical food, but from feeding your spirit with God’s Word. The devil failed in his attempt to lure Jesus into compromise because Jesus was full of Gods Word.

How full is your spirit? Are you ingesting God’s Word daily? Are you meditating on it, allowing it to produce life and strength no matter what the state of your physical body is?
